Women’s social participation has been a subject of considerable change throughout history and across different societies. Despite the existence of numerous theories, there remains a pressing need to formulate a comprehensive framework for women’s presence in social life. This study closely examines Ayatollah Khamenei’s thought on this topic and extracts an Islamic model of women’s social participation using a grounded theory approach. The model includes categories such as types and scope of participation, contextual factors, women’s characteristics (causal factors), strategies, obstacles, principles (intervening factors), and outcomes of participation. In this framework, the proper and effective participation of women is grounded in an Islamic perspective derived from the teachings of the two leaders of the Islamic Revolution. Women’s participation encompasses multiple forms and extensive levels. The model emphasizes responsible, serious, insightful, and faith-driven involvement based on divine will, guided by principles such as safeguarding women’s dignity, aligning with their natural capacities, prioritizing family roles, maintaining Islamic boundaries between men and women, and considering societal priorities and contextual realities. Strategies focus on both enabling women to be active agents and balancing their familial and social roles. The study argues that such principled engagement can accelerate social development significantly, making women the driving force behind transformative change. Conversely, neglecting these principles or strategies could cause severe disruptions in social progress
